Scriptures for Dec. 27 1Samuel 2:18-20, 26  Colossians 3:12-17   Luke 2:41-52

      As I looked at the scriptures for today, I thought it was interesting that each of the three shared a command theme except the theme begins in the verses left off. In Samuel the verses 21-25 talk about some unpleasant situations with Samuels brothers. Verse 25 touches the very reason for the Christmas season.

      25- If one person sins against another, someone can intercede for the sinner with the Lord; but if someone sins against the Lord, who can make intercession?

      We can be prayer warriors for each other (and we should) but Jesus Christ stands in front of the Lord for each and everyone of us when we sin. Yes, friends each and everyone of us sin, that may be hard for some to believe, but of all truths there is to learn that is the big one. Until we accept that truth and ask God to forgive and teach us anew we are like the Old Testament just a foreshadow of who we can be.

    The hymn we would have sung today if we had gathered together would have been

    "Go Tell It On The Mountain"

each of us have a story to share, today we sing it from the mountain top. God has come to us in human form to show us the way, to teach us to pray, and to receive into our hearts God's love, TODAY!

The Council of Bishops has decided to join the conferences of Ks West, East, and Neb. to make one joint area under one Bishop in 2012. How this will affect our corner of the world is not known at this time but we are the church united and will continue to serve as God calls us.
